TERMINATOR GENISYS (2015): Movie Clip & 6 TV Spots

Terminator Genisys Clip and TV Spots

Terminator Genisys Movie Clip and 6 TV Spots. Alan Taylor‘s Terminator Genisys (2015) 1 movie clip (54 sec) and 6 TV spots (30 sec each) have been released.

If you’ve seen any footage or trailer for this at all, you’ll know that they’re going back to that first Terminator film’s timeline, and altering it to fit the needs for this new story. The plot itself isn’t what puts me off as much as it does others, but so far, the execution does not inspire any hope at all. This film looks like a cartoon, and I just can’t take any of this very seriously. Unfortunately, the initial plan for the Christian Bale continuity in this franchise was scrapped after extensive rewrites to Terminator Salvation (apparently demanded by Bale). The long-term plan was creating a trilogy, taking its time with the arcs of John Connor, his mother, and the Terminator. There would be time to explore the people and the world, setting up satisfying arcs and conclusions.

Instead we have Genisys, and now that we have trailers and footage of this Alan Taylor (really? for Terminator?) iteration, it seems pretty clear what we’re in for. It looks like the creative forces behind this are flailing about, clueless, uninspired, and unintelligent. I hope that all of this is leading to something worthwhile, something hidden and tucked beneath these soft-CGI, PG-13, sexy-Sarah Connor trailers. But I just don’t see it. We’ll see soon enough what this film is made of. For now, check out this clip and some of the TV spots that have just been released.

Terminator Genisys‘ plot synopsis: “When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline.”

Terminator Genisys also stars Arnold SchwarzeneggerEmilia ClarkeJai CourtneyJ.K. Simmons, and Jason Clarke.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
