THE BATMAN: DC Solo Film Being Rewritten “From Ground Up”

Ben Affleck Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice

The Batman Screenplay May Be Completely Overhauled

Rumors claim that Warner Bros. has decided to rewrite the screenplay for The Batman “from [the] ground up” following Ben Affleck‘s departure from the director’s chair.

Although the project is still in the early stages of production, it already looks like there is a good deal of drama brewing behind the scenes. This became especially apparent when Affleck, after making several conflicting statements about his commitment to directing the film, announced that he would be stepping down for good. The Argo director explained that he would still stay on as a writer and actor for the movie, but some reports claim that even these commitments are in jeopardy.

If it is true that Warner Bros. has basically opted to dump everything it has come up with for the movie so far, then it would be fair to assume that the studio is very concerned about the direction the project is headed. Whether the changes it might make – whatever they may be- will improve the finished product remains to be seen., the source of this story, had this to share about the production:

However, Warner Bros. has plenty of time to overhaul the script before “The Batman” enters production. As it turns out, director Matt Reeves isn’t quite done working on “War For the Planet of the Apes” just yet — and he won’t be until at least the end of June. An earlier report indicates that production on “The Batman” may not even start until 2018.
