THE BLACKLIST: NBC TV Show Gets Full Season Order

The Blacklist NBC

The Blacklist Gets Full Season Order. NBC‘s The Blacklist has received an “early back 9 pickup,” which added to its initial 13 episodes, brings the freshman TV drama to 22 episodes. Given the quality of the first episode and the viewership response, this decision was not surprising in the least. “Through the first two weeks of the season, The Blacklist has averaged a 3.6 18-49 rating and 12 million viewers, ranking as the No. 1 most watched new drama this fall and No. 2 in 18-49. The series has dominated the Monday 10 PM hour, and the September 23 premiere added 4.4 million time-shifting viewers in Live+3.”

The Blacklist‘s plot synopsis: “For decades, ex-government agent Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) has been one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as “The Concierge of Crime.” Now, he’s mysteriously surrendered to the FBI with an explosive offer: he will help catch a long-thought-dead terrorist, Ranko Zamani, under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth “Liz” Keen, an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico.

For Liz, it’s going to be one hell of a first day on the job. What follows is a twisting series of events as the race to stop a terrorist begins. What are Red’s true intentions? Why has he chosen Liz, a woman with whom he seemingly has no connection? Does Liz have secrets of her own? Zamani, we come to find out, is only the first of many on a list that Red has compiled over the years: a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. He will help catch them all… with the caveat that Liz continues to work as his partner. Red will teach Liz to think like a criminal and “see the bigger picture”… whether she wants to or not.”

The Blacklist stars Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold, Ilfenesh Hadera, Giovanna Cappetta, Alexander Blaise, Roman Roytberg, Mir Rizvi, Abigail Friend, Megan Boone, James Spader, Annet Mahendru, Charles Baker, and Diego Klattenhoff.
