The Evil Dead

The Evil Dead Trailer. Fede Alvarez‘s The Evil Dead (2013) movie trailer from the 2012 New York Comic Con shows video footage that stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Elizabeth Blackmore. The Evil Dead‘s plot synopsis: “Mia, a young woman struggling with sobriety, heads to a remote cabin with her brother and a group of friends, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads to danger and horror…[they] unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the [friends] in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

This trailer starts out average then snowballs and accelerates to fantastic and sustains that until the last frame of the trailer. I was very impressed.

During the trailer reveal at the 2012 New York Comic Con, you can actually hear the crowd reacting to the violence then begin to clap because they were not expecting the trailer to be this good. I think this trailer received a standing ovation. It sounds like one was beginning when the trailer ends. It deserves it. Its about time a horror trailer delivered like this. I wish more did. This movie is going to be gory.
