The actor claims that the death of Eddie Thawne will have a huge impact on the second season early on. “It is definitely a factor, for sure”, Gustin said. “Barry wants to be there for Iris as her best friend right now. And for Barry, too. It’s too soon for everybody. Some tragic events just took place!”

The outlet also got in touch with Johns regarding a new character set to appear next season. The new character is said to be The Flash’s own Felicity Smoak (From Arrow). Rumored to be Patty Spivot, audition tapes have already been sent out for the role, where we learn that Spivot will be Joe West’s new partner for the CCPD. Johns also revealed that “there are a lot of new characters coming in, not just the ones that have been leaked online,” adding that the new characters would “challenge relationships, in good and bad ways.”
