In the teaser trailer, there were clips from the fifth and 12th episode of the first season where we got a little glimpse of Gorilla Grodd as he was still developing his psychic powers. In the episode “Plastique”, the end of the episode took us back five years when Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) was working with General Wade Eiling (Clancy Brown) and revealed a cage where Gorilla Grodd was kept with Wells saying he had plans for him. Gorilla Grodd appeared again in the episode “Crazy for You” when he attacked two maintenance workers down in the sewers after they find his name scribbled on the walls.

Based on this teaser, we may be seeing Gorilla Grodd in full form during next week’s episode when STAR Labs tries to help Dr. Stein and Ronnie from General Eiling as he goes after Firestorm. Gorilla Grodd is still developing his powers, so it might be a possibility that he is being set up as a main villain for the second season.
