THE FLASH: Producer Discusses Jay Garrick and Killer Frost [The CW]

Danielle Panabaker Killer Frost The Flash

The Flash Producer Talks About Jay Garrick and Killer Frost. After the conclusion of The Flash’s first season, fans were left with a lot of questions, including those regarding the appearance of Jay Garrick and Killer Frost. Producer Gabrielle Stanton gave some answers to that.

It looks like The Flash will be questioning his purpose as a hero after what culminated in the season finale. After helping the police catch some metahumans and stopping Harrison Wells, what will Barry’s life be like now? During a chat with Collider, Gabrielle Stanton touched upon where Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen will be heading next when season two kicks off.

[Barry] went through a lot, at the end of last season. He’s definitely going to start this season with a step back and be like, “What am I doing? Why am I doing this?” If last season was the journey of Barry discovering he’s a hero, this season is definitely him trying to figure out what that means. What is it to be a hero? What does he need to be a hero? What is it going to do to his personal relationships?

Regarding who will mentor the young hero after Wells, that’s where Teddy Sears’ Jay Garrick comes in. Stanton explained that, “…we’re introducing Jay Garrick, who will be a mentory character to Barry. Jay has seen some things that Barry hasn’t seen, and he’s going to be helping him through the process.”

There’s also the matter of Danielle Panabaker’s transformation into the villain Killer Frost, which was teased when Barry used the speed force and caught a glimpse of the future. So when will we be seeing the DC Comics villain? Here’s what Stanton had to say on the long wait:

It’s going to be a slower burn on that. That was just to keep people guessing. Who knows when Killer Frost is going to turn up? We did the helmet. We try to drop little Easter eggs. What I really like about The Flash is that I am a comic book fan, so I know a lot of this stuff, but my husband is not a comic book fan at all, and he still gets everything.

Are you guys excited to see Jay Garrick in season two? How about seeing Killer Frost in the near future?
