THE FLASH: Ronnie Raymond to Return, But With a Twist [The CW]

Robbie Amell Firestorm Deathstorm

Robbie Amell to Reprise Role as Ronnie Raymond on The Flash. It doesn’t look like we have seen the last of Ronnie Raymond after all. That’s because it’s been finally confirmed that Robbie Amell will be returning to The Flash, however, he will be playing a darker version of his character.

During the season premiere, we saw the demise of Ronnie Raymond when he tried to save Central City as Firestorm, sacrificing himself in the end. But, that won’t be the last time we will be seeing him. According to EW, Robbie will return to the series playing the Earth-2 version of Ronnie Raymond, who turns out to be Deathstorm. In the comics, Deathstorm is a evil manifestation of Firestorm after being resurrected by the Black Lantern CORPS. Based on the nature of the show, it makes sense to make Deathstorm into an Earth-2 villain since The Flash is tackling metahumans from an alternate timeline.

Talking about this dark twist to the character, EP Andrew Kreisberg discussed how Ronnie will fit into the story with this alternate version of him. “We are beyond excited to have Robbie back on The Flash,” says Kreisberg. “You can’t keep a good Firestorm down. Only this time, he’s back with a twist, a deadly Earth-Two version of our beloved Ronnie in the form of Deathstorm.”

That’s not the only thing we will be seeing, as EW also confirmed that Deathstorm would be teaming up with none other than Caitlin Snow’s (Danielle Panabaker) Earth-2 counterpart Killer Frost. So it looks like Barry will be facing double the trouble when he squares off against these two. What do you guys think?
