THE FLASH: TV Series to Deal with Time Travel

The Flash CW

The CW’s The Flash Will Use Time Travel This Season. Ever since The Flash premiered, it has been on everyone’s minds that the concept of time travel would probably surface. Well, time travel will be a part of the show in a big way according to executive producer Greg Berlanti.

Speaking with TVLine, Greg Berlanti said that time travel is going to be dealt as The Flash goes into its winter run. “We, obviously, hint at it from the pilot episode,” Berlanti told the site. “That is a big – ‘theme’ is the wrong word for it – but that is a big part of the DNA of who The Flash was, so we do deal with that.

Time travel has been a huge part of The Flash’s comic book history, including the cosmic treadmill that was introduced in 1961 where The Flash was able to meet many characters from different alternate timelines.

If time travel comes into the show, we can expect it has something to do with the mysterious Harrison Wells who has teased viewers with a possible future. Speaking of the future, Berlanti also spoke about how the writing team has already started talking about another Arrow/The Flash crossover episode during the back half of the season. “We just started talking about that. It’s so much fun to do. They’re so hard to do. But I think they’ll be so rewarding for everybody, ultimately, that that’s our hope, for sure.”

Looks like something big will be happening, as The Flash will continue its freshman run this winter. Are you guys excited to see what’s coming up for The Flash moving forward?
