Prior to this announcement, it was confirmed that both Alyssa Sutherland and Frances Conroy would star in the series. Sutherland will appear as Eve Cunningham, a mother who is trapped with her daughter inside a shopping mall, and Conroy will portray Nathalie, the antagonist of the program. Other actors set to appear in The Mist are Luke Cosgrove, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, and Isiah Whitlock, Jr.

Set in a small town that unexpectedly finds itself blighted by an impenetrable mist inhabited by horrific creatures, The Mist will focus on the efforts of residents to resolve any issues between them and protect each other from the mysterious menace facing the town:

Gus Birney as “Alex Cunningham,” the teenage daughter of Kevin and Eve Cunningham. She’s always been the ‘good daughter,’ but her over-protective mother helps to kick-start a rebellious streak. Birney is currently appearing in “The Rose Tattoo” at the Williamstown Theater Festival opposite Marisa Tomei.

Dan Butler as “Father Romanov,” a priest who is caught in between modernity and tradition, he has lost his faith but clings to the ritual. Dan’s many credits range from Silence of the Lambs to Crazy, Stupid Love, on film; from “Frasier” to “Prayers for Bobby” to “From the Earth to the Moon,” on TV, as well as major roles on and off Broadway. Independent films include Chronic Town, Fixing Frank and his award winning writing and directing ventures, Karl Rove, I Love You and Pearl.

**** We hired Reggie, fulfilled our obligations to him, and he quit in the middle of covering two TV series w/ no notice and no explanation. He then ignored our emails asking him to complete his coverage (we had no one else to cover those TV shows). He didn't care. We regret hiring him and we regret putting our trust in him. **** An aspiring writer, longtime film junkie, and former UCLARadio.com disc jockey (where I graduated with a BA in Political Science), I've made the jump from penning book reviews and current events editorials for HonorSociety.org to writing movie and TV news and reviews. When I'm not working towards my certificate in Radio and Television/Video Production at Fullerton College, I enjoy reading (horror, science fiction, and historical/political nonfiction are particular favorites), participating in my school's TV and theatre clubs, attending movie screenings, plays, concerts, and other events, and trying to come up with pithy things to say on social media. Believe it or not, there are occasions where I find time to write for my own leisure.
