Arnold Schwarzenegger Might Not Play Role In The Predator
Schwarzenegger, of course, portrayed mercenary Major “Dutch” Schaeffer in the first Predator movie, which the upcoming film is being promoted as a sequel to. However, Holbrook made comments that suggested the project would not be as closely tied to the original as was previously reported. In fact, he even went as far to say that the movie wasn’t a sequel, conflicting with earlier claims that the production would remain in the continuity of the original.
The actor also cast doubt on Schwarzenegger’s involvement with the film, something that will likely disappoint fans of the franchise. What he did promise, however, was that director Shane Black will offer a whole new take on the beloved property.
Per Superherohype, the source of this story:
The original Predator was directed by John McTiernan and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of a United States special forces team that comes under attack from an alien entity that prizes the thrill of the hunt above all else. It was followed by a direct sequel, Predator 2, in 1990 before crossing over with Fox’s Alien franchise for two additional sequels, Alien vs. Predator and AvP: Requiem. In 2010, Nimrod Antal helmed a reboot with a new feature, Predators.
