Thomas Jane Set To Join Cast Of The Predator

Hung star Thomas Jane is slated to play a role in Shane Black‘s upcoming action/science fiction sequel The Predator.

In addition to his work on the aforementioned HBO series, Jane is known for his role on The Expanse, a Syfy series that he currently stars in. In addition, he has acted in a number of noteworthy films, including Boogie Nights, The Thin Red Line, Deep Blue Sea, The Mist, and 2004’s The Punisher, in which he played Frank Castle. It is unclear who he will play in the new Predator installment, but other cast members have already been confirmed for the project. Among those attached to it are Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, and Keegan-Michael Key.

Although some have referred to the production as a reboot, Black has explained that the movie takes place in the same continuity as the first two films, meaning that it is a true sequel.

Per Superherohype:

The original Predator was directed by John McTiernan and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of a United States special forces team that comes under attack from an alien entity that prizes the thrill of the hunt above all else. It was followed by a direct sequel, Predator 2, in 1990 before crossing over with Fox’s Alien franchise for two additional sequels, Alien vs. Predator and AvP: Requiem. In 2010, Nimrod Antal helmed a reboot with a new feature, Predators.
