The second movie trailer and U.K. movie poster for James DeMonaco‘s The Purge: Election Year (2016) have premiered. The first trailer for this film gave too much away but still, it was much better than this trailer. The last third of this trailer is a collection of images, showing how people have become warped by The Purge with Purge costumes that have become more and more disturbed. This trailer showed more of the sub-characters in the film than in the previous trailer, popping out of nowhere in the right place at the right time. It’s funny how that keeps happening, especially in the large playground these films take place in.

The Purge: Election Year‘s plot synopsis: “It’s been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn… or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.”

The Purge: Election Year stars Elizabeth Mitchell, Frank Grillo, Mykelti Williamson, Raymond J. Barry, Ethan Phillips, Sparrowhawk, Edwin Hodge, Terry Serpico, David Aaron Baker, Kyle Secor, Kimberly Howe, Joseph Julian Soria, Christopher James Baker, London Hall, and Liza Colón-Zayas.
