THE REVENANT (2015): 44-Minute Documentary on the Making of The Film
The Revenant Making of Documentary. The making of The Revenant documentary, which delves into the film currently seating at the top of the box office, has been released. This movie featurette entitled ‘A World Unseen’ is a lengthy behind-the-scenes look at the making of Alejandro González Iñárritu‘s film, reaching the 44:25-minute mark. The film featured many terrific moments, many that evolved unique shoots and the use of some CGI mixed with practical affects. The director of the documentary is Eliot Rausch, who captures Iñárritu’s directing process (how he orchestrated and achieved certain shots) as well as how the actors on-set dealt with the elements (the snow, cold, and aggressive locations), key characters in the film.
The viewer, from watching this featurette, truly sees the depth to which the film’s creators went into for this film to make it as authentic to the time period and the people (dialects, religious beliefs, etc.) as possible.

The Revenant stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, Lukas Haas, and Brendan Fletcher, Brad Carter, Javier Botet, Kristoffer Joner, Will Poulter, Paul Anderson, Robert Moloney, Dave Burchill, Kory Grim, Joshua Burge, and Vincent Leclerc.
The Revenant‘s plot synopsis: “Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT captures one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.”
