THE SEA OF TREES (2015) Japanese Movie Trailer: Matthew McConaughey is Lost

Matthew McConaughey Ken Watanabe The Sea of Trees

The Sea of Trees Japanese Trailer. Gus Van Sant‘s The Sea of Trees (2015) international movie trailer stars Matthew McConaughey, Naomi Watts, Katie Aselton, Ken Watanabe, and Jordan Gavaris. The Sea of Trees‘ plot synopsis: “Arthur Brennan treks into Aokigahara, known as The Sea of Trees, a mysterious dense forest at the base of Japan’s Mount Fuji where people go to commit suicide. On his journey to the suicide forest, he encounters Takumi Nakamura, a Japanese man who has lost his way after attempting suicide. The two men begin a journey of reflection and survival.”

I did not know what to think of this trailer when it began but it got interesting fairly quickly, reminding me a little of Black Mirror‘s White Christmas episode, with the two main characters reflecting on their life in a strange place.
