THE SKIN THAT I INHABIT (2011) Teaser Poster: Pedro Almodóvar

Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya, The Skin That I Inhabit

The Skin That I Inhabit Teaser Poster has premiered. The teaser poster is for the 2011 Pedro Almodóvar directed film starring Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya, Marisa Paredes, Jan Cornet, and Roberto Alamo does not show any of the principal cast in it. The Skin That I Inhabit (La piel que habito)’s plot synopsis: based on Theirry Jonque‘s 2005 book Tarantula, the film follows “a plastic surgeon’s revenge on the man who raped his daughter…this is a film that has a loathsome protagonist who, while seeking justice for his daughter, keeps his wife imprisoned and subjects her to humiliating sexual acts with strangers.” I actually read an extended synopsis for the book but decided not to print it. It gives too much away and believe me there is more to this story. If you want to read the full synopsis, you can find it here. I’m leaning toward reading the book before seeing the movie. I was able to get through the harsh material in Ellis’  American Psycho so I will probably be able to do the same with Tarantula. Being shown at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Sony Pictures Classics has already acquired the  distributing rights to The Skin That I Inhabit. Take a gander at the The Skin That I Inhabit teaser poster below and leave your thoughts on it. The Skin That I Inhabit will have a limited US release on November 18, 2011.
