A screenwriter has been found for the Warner Bros. film based on The Twilight Zone television series. Aron Eli Coleite is to pen the screenplay for the science fiction tentpole. Coleite is best known for his work both as a television writer and producer for NBC series Heroes and the comic book Ultimate X-Men. Warner Bros has been developing the project since 2009. While the 1983 feature Twilight Zone had four separate storylines, this picture will have one story with various elements from the Twilight Zone universe.
Sarah Schechter is overseeing The Twilight Zone for Warner Bros Studio.
We previously published the following article on The Twilight Zone:
Coleite currently has two screenplays in the development. The first, an apocalyptic drama entitled The End, is set up with Warner Bros. This screenplay will be directed by Drew Barrymore. The second is an adaptation of a short story by Rick Yancey called When First We Were Gods. The short story is set in a world where immortality can be bought by the rich and follows a man who attempts to murder his immortal wife so that his mortal mistress can take her place and live forever.
Additionally, Coleite has been an active TV writer with writing and producer credits on The River, Heroes, and Crossing Jordan.
Coleite is represented by CA and attorney Karl Austen.
There is still no time table in place for the film. No casting has been decided yet but now that a director, Joseph Kosinski, and screenwriter have found, momentum will grow for the project.
