AMC’s The Walking Dead season 5 ring leaders get EW TV show poster spotlight for season 6. Sure, fans of The Walking Dead would like to know some of the new faces, awaiting them for the show’s upcoming sixth season; and while Entertainment Weekly has already begun to offer that service, it would be remiss of them not to add a little something about a few fan fav older faces. In particular, those of the three undeclared ringleaders of the familiar ‘road cast,’ during their rocky integration with Alexandria’s townies.

Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Carol (Melissa McBride), and Daryl (Norman Reedus) get the cover treatment, as EW touches upon their upcoming trials, for the season 6 Alexandria arc.

Early indications are: things do not necessarily take a positive turn, after Rick got a reprieve, at Pete’s expense.

From the EW article:

Ultimately, it comes down to what Lincoln says is, “them and us. When I read the first script, I called [showrunner Scott M. Gimple] up and went, ‘You know, I say them and they, and us and we a lot.” He said, ‘That’s your journey, from them to us.’”

Reedus says to expect “a lot of internal conflict. A lot of characters that you didn’t see having beef are starting to have beef—there’s a lot of mistrust.”

I’m not sure if any of that new beef will extend to the season 5 triumvirate, of Rick, Carol, and Daryl; but, for now, EW does seem to be celebrating the alliance, with a pair of… cheeky poster images. They may be a little on the shopped side; but that might’ve been necessary for a certain line to be crossed.

“I’m Carol. This here’s my guy Daryl; this here my other guy Daryl (we just call him Rick). I make things happen. Sometimes that means keeping your eyes on my friendly smile, while me ‘n mine grope knife ‘n gun handles. I make things happen, like what my guys are doing with their free hands. Wouldn’t you like to know what that is….”

“Yeah – take that in! I’m Carol: making things happen whether you like it or not.”

So… I know what you’re thinking: it’s about that cookie on the cover. I’m a little fuzzy on the matter, myself, but some of you might recall Carol going from Ranger school to ‘Martha Stewart for KGB moles,’ in order to facilitate any ‘hard decisions’ Rick may have thought necessary for Alexandria. You may also recall Major Dodson dodging a major bullet, when his Sam Anderson character – faced with a cookies-for-silence, or lonely-slow-death option – took the cookie. Bless his heart, that he probably didn’t even consider there being a death-by-cookie option.

Yes, I think she is that good, at being pragmatically bad. I, for one, would like her to keep the oven mitts on, for a bit longer; ‘cause when the mitts come off….

(Slow-mo shot of Carol letting mitts fall from both hands – revealing .45s already in place. John Woo mayhem ensues! Doves & flour flying everywhere!!)

<ahem>… The Walking Dead, season 6, also features Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Sonequa Martin-Green, Lauren Cohan, Seth Gilliam, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Alanna Masterson, Christian Serratos, Tovah Feldshuh, Ethan Embry, Merrit Weaver, Corey Hawkins, Ross Marquand, Alexandra Breckenridge, Austin Abrams, and Lennie James. The new season begins Sunday October 11, at 9:00 pm EST, on AMC.
