THE WITCH (2015) Movie Trailer: Anya Taylor-Joy Plays Peek-a-Boo with Evil

Anya Taylor-Joy The Witch

The Witch Trailer. Robert EggersThe Witch (2015) movie trailer entitled ‘Peek A Boo’ stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie, Julian Richings, and Viv Moore. The Witch‘s plot synopsis: “New England, 1630: William and Katherine lead a devout Christian life, homesteading on the edge of an impassible wilderness, with five children. When their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail, the family begins to turn on one another. ‘The Witch’ is a chilling portrait of a family unraveling within their own fears and anxieties, leaving them prey for an inescapable evil.”

The Witch has some of the creepiest and most effective horror movie trailers that I have seen in years. What makes this significant is that this has been achieved by not explaining the entire plot of the film in the trailers. There are not many advertising promos that can unsettle a viewer to the extent that this film has been able to achieve.

The Witch is like WGN‘s Salem but creepy instead of in your face.
