The Thor Movie Trailer 2 has premiered. I like the snippets of new Chris Hemsworth battle footage, especially the images of The Day the Earth Stood Still‘s Gort (the 1951 version, not the 2008 CGI one) but the Kat Dennings and Natalie Portman comedic elements are unwelcome in my view. The film’s story would not need the distraction of family-friendly levity if the dramatic elements were strong and involving enough. Kenneth Branagh‘s Thor (2011) also stars Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, Ray Stevenson, Rene Russo, and Tom Hiddleston. Thor‘s plot synopsis: “The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.” The Thor Comic-Con 2010 Movie Trailer and Thor (2011) Movie Trailer contain alternate footage than that found in this Thor movie trailer. Personally I like the first two Thor movie trailers than this one as Anthony Hopkins seems to have some of the best dialogue in the film. Watch Thor movie trailer 2 below and leave your thoughts on it. Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures’ Thor lands in theaters on May 6, 2011.
