THOR: RAGNAROK (2017): Planet Sakaar to Appear in Film

Planet Hulk

Planet Sakaar to Become Focus on Thor: Ragnarok

Fans already know that elements of Planet Hulk will be in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok and now we know which one will definitely make it’s appearance. Directed by Taika Waititi recently revealed that Planet Sakaar will be much of a focus in the new film.

Talking with Total Film, Waititi spoke about which parts of the Planet Hulk storyline will be part of Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) next adventure. “Sakaar was just an insane, far-off, furutistic place which was the biggest shift for the film and these characters,” the director said.

Sakaar is a planet that Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) ends up stranded on in the Planet Hulk storyline where refugee aliens inhabit the world and become part of a gladiator competition. Waititi also explained that artist Jack Kirby’s visual style was also a big influence on the film, saying: “I was really excited when Kevin and the rest of Marvel jumped on board with the idea to use Kirby as a big influence in the design of the film. What’s really hard is staying authentic.”
