Asa Butterfield And Sophie Turner To Appear In Time Freak

Hugo star Asa Butterfield and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner join the cast of QC Entertainment and Rhodes Entertainment’s Time Freak.

First appearing on the film scene as a supporting character in Son of Rambow, Butterfield followed it up as the titular Boy in the Striped Pyjamas in the Holocaust drama of the same name. Turner, on the other hand, is also known for taking over the role of Jean Grey from Famke Janssen in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Now that the two have been cast in Time, they will headline the sci-fi-tinged romantic comedy. Butterfield will appear as a lovesick physics student while Turner will appear as Debbie, his girlfriend who breaks up with him and serves as the impetus for him to build a time machine and go back to fix every mistake he might have made in their relationship.

Deadline, the source of this story, shares the following information about the production:

QC and Rhodes Entertainment in association with Beach Pictures will produce and finance. QC has recently been behind the phenomenal success of Jordan Peele’s Get Out which is nearing the $200M mark at the global B.O. off a $4.5M negative cost via Universal/Blumhouse.  QC Entertainment’s Ray Mansfield and Rhodes Entertainment’s Matthew Rhodes will serve as producers while QC’s Edward H. Hamm Jr., Sean McKittrick and Shaun Redick will serve as Executive Producers with Beach Pictures’ Qianshan ‘Sean’ Liao, Wendy Liao and Keith Wright. Jonathan Gray, Justin Bursch, Gigi Causey, and Rob Lieber will also serve as EPs.
