Timeless Uncancelled, American Gods Renewed, 2 Broke Girls Canceled

In the biggest surprise of the 2017 cancellation, renewal, series order, and air date season, a TV show that was cancelled has actually been uncancelled. I have never actually witnessed this happen.

Timeless

NBC‘s Timeless, a freshmen time-travel TV series, was initially canceled in the middle of this week. Apparently, the fan reaction to the cancellation was huge. Timeless topped USA Today’s Save Our Shows poll. “49% of the record 146,600-vote turnout in USA TODAY’s Save Our Shows poll last month wanted [Timeless] back, topping 23 other series ‘on the bubble’ between renewal and cancellation.”

I plan on watching the first episode of Timeless to see what fans love so much about this show. Maybe I will love it as well.

The second season of Timeless will be ten episodes long and will air next spring or next summer on NBC.

American Gods

Also renewed for a second season, albeit in a more conventional way, was Starz‘s American Gods. The first episode of the TV adaptation was watched by over five million people. The second season’s episode count has not been confirmed yet but it will most-likely match the episode order for the first season, which was eight episodes. We reviewed the first episode of American Gods here.

There was no way Starz was going to let a show of this grandeur “fall into shadow,” especially with the talent involved. I have seen a few of the upcoming episodes and they deepen the mythos, humor, heart, and the sheer unexpected that this show has to offer a viewer.

2 Broke Girls

On the cancellation front, CBS2 Broke Girls will not be coming back for a seventh season. 2 Broke Girls has been cancelled after six seasons. 2 Broke Girls always reminded me of Veep. There are so many jokes and one-liners coming at you during an episode of 2 Broke Girls (its strength and its weakness), some of them land and some of them don’t. I only watched the first few episodes but the show it was funny.

There is talk that 2 Broke Girls is being shopped so all hope is not lost. Who knows, it could land at Netflix. Longmire did. So did The Killing. I wish Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles did.
