To The Bone Trailer
Marti Noxon‘s To The Bone (2017) movie trailer stars Keanu Reeves, Lily Collins, Carrie Preston, Alanna Ubach, and Liana Liberato. To The Bone‘s plot synopsis: “Ellen is an unruly, 20-year-old anorexic girl who spent the better part of her teenage years being shepherded through various recovery programs, only to find herself several pounds lighter every time. Determined to find a solution, her dysfunctional family agrees to send her to a group home for youths, which is led by a non-traditional doctor. Surprised by the unusual rules—and charmed by her fellow patients—Ellen has to discover for herself how to confront her addiction and attempt self-acceptance, in order to stand a chance against her demons.”
To The Bone looks like a good drama about a disorder that afflicts millions of people across the world to some degree. I am not sure how skinny Lily Collins was before she got the Ellen role in this film but she became gaunt during it (to portray her character accurately). Keenau Reeves, fresh off the success of his second John Wick franchise entry, looks good in this as well as he tries to shepherd Collins’ character to a healthy lifestyle.
This surprisingly deep and powerful drama provides Lily Collins a career-making role as Ellen, a twenty-year-old woman who commits to one last chance at overcoming her eating disorder through inpatient treatment with an unconventional doctor, William (Keanu Reeves).
