Stanley Tucci slated to appear in Transformers: The Last Knight. The Academy Award-nominated Lovely Bones and Captain America: The First Avenger actor will reprise his role as Joshua Joyce in the Transformers sequel.
Tucci’s return to the long-running Michael Bay series marks the second time he has played a recurring character in a major film franchise in recent years. The first was none other than The Hunger Games, in which he portrayed the flamboyant TV personality and titular event host Caesar Flickerman. Now that he has been cast in The Last Knight, he will also have the chance to play the ambitious CEO who unwittingly laid the foundation for the events of Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Joining Tucci on the project are Jerrod Carmichael, Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, and Ken Watanabe, with voice actors Peter Cullen and Frank Welker reprising their roles as Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively:
Currently in production, “Transformers: The Last Knight” is the fifth entry in the film franchise, and the fifth to be directed by Michael Bay. The plot for the sequel is currently unknown, though promotional images featuring Autobot leader Optimus Prime have been released. This film will also serve as the setup for a “Bumblebee” spinoff film, and several sequels to expand into a shared Transformers movie universe a la Marvel and DC Comics’ current cinematic endeavors.
Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, and Josh Duhamel will reprse their roles for the film as Cade Yeager, Robert Epps and Lt. Colonel William Lennox, respectively.
