Anna Kendrick And Justin Timberlake To Return For Trolls 2

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake are set to reprise their animated roles for Dreamworks‘ upcoming fantasy film sequel Trolls 2.

The two previously headlined the first Trolls movie as the characters Poppy and Branch respectively. On top of this, they both performed music for the film’s soundtrack, with Timberlake notably performing the original song “Can’t Stop the Feeling” for this Sunday’s Oscars’ ceremony. It is unclear if the actor and musician will also return to his musical duties for the follow-up, which is set for release in 2020.

Both Kendrick and Timberlake hardly need an introduction: the former was nominated for an Academy Award for her supporting role in 2009’s Up in the Air, and Timberlake was a member of the enormously popular music group The Backstreet Boys before making the transition to acting.

Comingsoon.net, the source of this story, shared the following press release regarding the casting of Kendrick and Timberlake:

“Can’t stop the feeling as the colorful, wondrous Trolls return for TROLLS 2, the follow-up to 2016’s breakout global hit about how far you’ll go for happiness… and how far you’ll go to get it back. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake reprise their roles as the eternal optimist Poppy and the curmudgeon Branch in the new musical comedy-adventure from the creators of Shrek. Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation’s TROLLS 2 will arrive in theaters on April 10, 2020.”
