Trumbo Trailer

Trumbo Trailer. Jay Roach‘s Trumbo (2015) movie trailer stars Bryan Cranston, Elle Fanning, Diane Lane, Helen Mirren, Alan Tudyk, John Goodman, and Louis C.K. Trumbo‘s plot synopsis: “The successful career of Hollywood screenwriter, Dalton Trumbo, comes to an end when he is blacklisted in the 1940s for being a Communist.”

This looks like a hell of a good time! The cast is stellar, the energy feels perfect, and I’m always ready for a political squabble in the form of Hollywood/1940s aesthetic. I really can’t wait to see this. According to Slashfilm, “In the ’30s and ’40s Trumbo was one of Hollywood’s most successful screenwriters, penning such works as Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo and A Guy Named Joe, and earning an Oscar nomination for Kitty Foyle. But his career was derailed in the late ’40s and ’50s when the House of Un-American Activities launched an investigation into the industry, looking to root out Communist sympathizers.

Trumbo actually managed to win two Academy Awards during his blacklisting — one for The Brave One, which he scripted under a pseudonym, and one for Roman Holiday, for which Ian McLellan Hunter served as a front. The blacklist began to crumble in 1960, when Trumbo was publicly credited for his work on Exodusand Spartacus.”

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
