Sam Jaeger…has been tapped for a lead role in the TNT drama pilot Lumen, written by Chris Black and directed by Joe Johnson.

In Lumen, the famous author of a best-selling series of fantasy books suddenly disappears, and a family of four finds themselves transported to the mystical alternate world that inspired her work. Jaeger will play Michael Hartman, the stepfather of 16-year-old Charlie whose obsession with finding the author thrusts his family into the surreal world of Lumen. Michael, a widower now married to Charlie’s mother and the father of a rebellious teenage daughter, is challenged with trying to keep his family together as they confront the amazing but dangerous reality of Lumen.

Dig (USA)

Dean Chekvala (True Blood) has been tapped to guest star on USA Network’s 10-episode event series Dig…Chekvala…will play Charlie, Debbie’s (Lauren Ambrose) ex-boyfriend. Though their breakup was bitter, his love for her is resolute and he becomes her reluctant ally when she needs him.

Grace And Frankie (Netflix)

Michael Gross (Family Ties, Tremors) has landed a recurring role in Netflix‘s half-hour comedy Grace And Frankie…Gross…will play Jeff, an enthusiastic gay caterer who is friends with Grace and Frankie’s former husbands.

Agent Carter (ABC)

Bridget Regan (John Wick) is the latest addition to the cast of Marvel’s Agent Carter. She will play the recurring role of Dottie, a small-town girl from Iowa who’ll have a huge impact on the life of Agent Carter.

Costa Ronin will play Anton Vanko in the upcoming ABC series. Vanko’s storyline was first introduced in “Iron Man 2,” where he played Howard Stark’s business partner. Vanko’s son Ivan grew up to be Whiplash (played by Mickey Rourke in the film), a deadly threat to Tony Stark’s titular character.

The elder Vanko, portrayed by Evgeniy Lazarev, made a brief appearance in the film. Ronin will play a significantly younger version of Anton on the highly-anticipated TV show.

The Magicians (Syfy)

Stella Maeve (Chicago PD), Hale Appleman (Smash) and Arjun Gupta (How To Get Away With Murder) have landed key roles in Syfy pilot The Magicians, an adaptation of Lev Grossman’s bestselling fantasy book trilogy…The Magicians follows 20-somethings who, while studying magic in New York, discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real and poses grave danger to humanity.

Maeve…will play Julia, a wealthy and brilliant Ivy-Leaguer who seems destined for success, but her future plans are forever altered after she is denied admittance to the mysterious Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy. Appleman…will play Eliot, a student at the Brakebills who will prove a sometimes frustrating ally in Quentin’s fortunes, and may soon factor into a series of perilous adventures. Gupta…will play Penny, Quentin’s roommate at Brakebills. He is bedeviled by voices that hint at pathways to other worlds.

The Slap (NBC)

Uma Thurman has replaced Mary-Louise Parker in NBC’s upcoming all-star miniseries The Slap

Parker was forced to step aside due to health reasons (the actress is recovering from a bout of pneumonia).

The Oscar-nominated Thurman takes over the role of Anouk, a TV writer who is dating her show’s young leading man (Gossip Girl‘s Penn Badgley).

Man Seeking Woman (FX)

Miles Fisher (Final Destination) has booked a multi-episode recurring role opposite Jay Baruchel on FX comedy Man Seeking Woman…it centers on Josh Greenberg (Baruchel), a naive romantic on a desperate quest for love. When his longtime girlfriend dumps him, Josh enters the dating scene, a nightmarish hellscape of untold horror. Despite the agony, Josh continues his search in the hopes of finding someone who will make all the misery worth it. Fisher will play Graham, the boyfriend of Josh’s (Baruchel) ex-girlfriend.

Sin City Saints (Yahoo)

Michael Liu (Conviction) has joined the cast of Yahoo’s eight-episode comedy Sin City Saints as a recurring guest star..Liu…will play Wu Lee, a talented basketball player being wooed by New York and the Las Vegas Saints.
