Into The Badlands, Masters of Sex, Preacher, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on AMC, Showtime, and  FX.

Rick Famuyiwa…[is] set to helm Confirmation, HBO Films’ upcoming picture about the 1991 Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill scandal. Kerry Washington is already set to play Hill.

Confirmation details the explosive 1991 Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill Supreme Court nomination hearings, which brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way we think about sexual harassment, victims rights and modern-day race relations.

Into The Badlands (AMC)

Set as the young lead opposite star Daniel Wu is actor Aramis Knight. Also cast in the series are Madeleine Mantock (The Tomorrow People) and Ally Ioannides (Parenthood).

In a land controlled by feudal barons, the series tells the story of a ruthless, well-trained warrior named Sunny (Wu) and a young boy, M.K. (Knight), who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment. No longer a boy but not yet a man, M.K. is fearless and tests Sunny’s patience on a daily basis. Under Sunny’s tutelage, M.K. will become a martial artist of unrivaled skill.

Mantock…plays Veil, a beguiling beauty and Sunny’s lover. She is a doctor who specializes in making and applying prosthetic limbs for Clippers (squads of assassins) who have lost them.

Ioannides…plays Tilda, one of The Widow’s “butterflies,” who is trained to kill and who befriends M.K.

The Get Down (Netflix)

Herizen Guardiola will make her acting debut in The Get Down…The 18-year-old singer-songwriter will topline the music-driven drama

The Night Manager (AMC)

British actors David Harewood (Homeland), Neil Morrissey (Line Of Duty), Katherine Kelly (Mr Selfridge) and Tobias Menzies (The Honorable Woman) have joined the cast of AMC and BBC One’s adaptation of John le Carré’s novel The Night Manager

Other actors set to appear in the espionage drama include Adeel Akhtar, Natasha Little, Jonathan Aris and Hannah Steele.

Virtuoso (HBO)

Shannon Tarbet has landed a regular role on Virtuoso…Tarbet plays Ina, who lives on the streets of Vienna. She is poor and dirty but very pretty and with a huge spirit and tremendous energy for life. She and her street-musician boyfriend face daily danger on the mean streets and have to fight for their love and safety.

Tyrant (FX)

Keon Alexander has joined the Season 2 cast of FX’s Tyrant…Alexander’s role was not was not disclosed, but he will recur throughout the season.

Underground (WGN)

Adina Porter (True Blood) has landed a recurring role on Underground

Porter will play Pearly Mae, a strong wife and mother who first gives voice to the song in which the runners will find clues to help guide them to freedom.

The Five Year Engagement (Netflix)

Joining the…four-episode series, which will be accompanied by an hourlong “making-of” special, are Paul F. Tompkins, Jay Johnston, Brian Posehn, John Ennis, Mark Rivers and Dino Stamatopolis.

Preacher (AMC)

Dominic Cooper has closed a deal to play the lead in AMC drama pilot Preache…The project, from Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, …centers on Jesse Custer (Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says.

Elizabeth Perkins is set for a co-starring role opposite Dominic Cooper in AMC drama pilot Preacher…Perkins plays Vyla Quinncannon, a genteel but formidable businesswoman who owns the local slaughterhouse in Annville. Ambitious, strong-willed and terrifying, Vyla shares a past with Jesse’s father which gives her a singular hold over Jesse.

Masters of Sex (Showtime)

the Showtime drama has cast Isabelle Fuhrman in a major recurring role as Virginia Johnson’s daughter Tessa.

Fuhrman takes over the role of Tessa from child actress Kayla Madison who played the girl for the first two seasons.

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson (FX)

Sterling K. Brown has been cast as prosecutor Christopher Darden in the miniseries

Darden is a 15-year veteran lawyer with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. Harried, overworked and underappreciated, he eventually finds himself as co-counsel, working alongside Marcia Clark (Sarah Paulson) to prosecute OJ Simpson. It is Darden who asks Simpson to try on the bloody gloves in one of the trial’s most talked about twists.

Finding Carter (MTV)

Michael Roark has joined the Season 2 of MTV’s Finding Carter. He will play Shay, the uncle of Crash (Caleb Ruminer).

Chicago Fire (NBC)

Alexandra Metz is set to recur on NBC’s Chicago Fire. She returns to the series as Elise Mills, sister of Peter Mills (Charlie Barnett). She helped run the family restaurant with her mom before it burned down then went to Africa to provide aid for a year. Now she’s back.
