Heroes Reborn, Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, and other television productions have all made recent TV show and TV movie casting news. These shows and movies air on NBC, Lifetime,  and A&E.

Aaliyah: Princess of R&B (Lifetime)

Singer-actress Zendaya is set to star in Lifetime’s original movie “Aaliyah: Princess of R&B” (working title) about the life of the late actress and R&B artist Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash in 2001…based on the bestseller “Aaliyah: More Than a Woman” by former Time Magazine music editor Christopher Farley…The film will depict [Aaliyah Dana Haughton’s] journey and rise to fame.

Heroes Reborn (NBC)

[Jack Coleman] is the first original cast member to return for “Heroes Reborn,” the miniseries reboot of NBC’s popular superhero series that ran from 2006 to 2010.

Coleman will reprise his role as Noah Bennet, the (possibly) misunderstood Heroes napper — and adopted father of Hayden Panettiere’s cheerleader Claire — who was known to fans as the Man with the Horn-Rimmed Glasses (or HRG) because of his trademark specs.

The Returned (A&E)

Leah Gibson (DirecTV’s Rogue) and Rhys Ward (The 100, The Strain) have been cast as recurring in in Carlton Cuse’s 10-episode A&E Network drama series The Returned…Gibson…will play Lucy, a sexy free spirited traveler who works as a waitress at the local bar, The Dog Star Tavern. Ward plays Adam, an expert hunter with a dark nature and a complicated family history that he’s struggling to overcome.
