True Detective (HBO)

Justin Lin will direct the first two episodes.

Colin Farrell as Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.

Vince Vaughn as Frank Semyon, a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.

The Girlfriend Experience (Starz)

Riley Keough (The Runaways, Magic Mike) has signed on as the female lead for The Girlfriend Experience, a 13-part anthology series

Agents Carter (ABC)

Shea Whigham has lined up his next series gig, a starring role opposite Hayley Atwell in Marvel’s Agent Carter, ABC’s new series, which will bridge the fall and spring runs of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Whigham will play what is considered the male lead in the series…Whigham will play the tough but fair-minded SSR Chief Roger Dooley, the man who will oversee agents Carter, Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) and Sousa (Enver Gjokaj).

Blunt Talk (Starz)

Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook) is set as the female lead opposite Patrick Stewart in Starz’s live-action comedy series Blunt Talk…Also cast in the MRC-produced series is British actor Adrian Scarborough (The King’s Speech). Blunt Talk is a character-driven comedy revolving around Walter Blunt (Stewart), an infrequently sober but legendary British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news. The series follows the fallout from Blunt’s well-intentioned but mostly misguided decision-making, both on and off the air. Weaver will play Blunt’s straight-talking, tough and motherthy producer-manager Rosalie Winter, who looks after Walter’s career and helps shape the Blunt Talk newscast.

Peter Pan Live! (NBC)

Taylor Louderman and Alanna Saunders have been cast opposite Allison Williams, Kelli O’Hara and Christian Borle in NBC’s Peter Pan Live! Louderman will play Wendy Darling, one of the three Darling children and the daughter of George (Borle) and Mary Darling (O’Hara). Saunders will play Tiger Lily, the Native American who rules her “islanders” on Neverland and is captured by Captain Hook, only to be rescued by Peter Pan (Williams). She returns the favor by joining forces with Peter, Wendy, Michael, John and the Lost Boys to thwart the dastardly plan of the Captain.

Strike Back (Cinemax)

Michelle Yeoh is heading to Cinemax’s action series Strike Back along with Will Yun Lee (he’ll play a villainous role as a member of the North Korean State Security Department) and other new cast members…Also joining [Sullivan Stapleton] are returning stars Philip Winchester, Robson Green, Michelle Lukes, and Milauna Jackson. New cast members include Dustin Clare (Spartacus), James Wilby (Gosford Park), Adrian Paul (Highlander), Joseph Gatt (Game Of Thrones), Christian Antidormi (Spartacus: War Of The Damned), and UK MMA fighter Michael Bisping. Michael McElhatton (Game Of Thrones), Max Beesley (Suits), Tim McInnerny (Notting Hill), Leo Gregory (Tristan And Isolde), Mark Griffin (Doctor Who), Wolf Kahler (Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows), Andrew Pleavin (300: Rise Of An Empire), Eliza Hope Bennett (Nanny McPhee) and Masa Yamaguchi (The Wolverine) also have been cast

Veep (HBO)

Jessie Ennis has joined the cast of HBO’s D.C. comedy Veep in a recurring role for Season 4.

Empire (Fox)

Gladys Knight has signed on to Fox’s Empire, playing herself in a potentially recurring role. Knight…will sing in the show.

Justified (FX)

Sam Elliott will portray “Markham,” a legendary Kentucky gangster who returns from exile with a private army and bags of cash (earned growing legal weed in Colorado), hell-bent on winning back his empire and the lost love of his life, Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen). He’ll find himself butting heads with Raylan and Boyd and even with Katherine herself, who secretly believes that Markham is the rat who brought down her husband.

Garret Dillahunt will play “Walker”, a spec ops veteran who’s spent much of the last decade deployed in combat zones, first as a soldier and most recently as a private contractor. He now handles security for a quasi-legal businessman, a job to which he brings all of the skills (as well as the demons) he acquired during his military career. Walker hides his simmering rage behind an exterior of cold professionalism — until the combined irritants of Raylan and Boyd wear away his veneer and bring the monster to the surface.

Show Me A Hero (HBO)

Daniel Sauli has joined the cast of HBO’s miniseries Show Me A Hero from The Wire co-creator David Simon…Sauli will play Terry Zaleski, a state legislator who is elected mayor of Yonkers after Nick Wasicsko (Isaac) leaves office.

Red Band Society (Fox)

Daren Kagasoff has been tapped for a recurring role on Fox’s coming-of age-drama series Red Band Society…Kagasoff will play Hunter, the sarcastic, intellectual bad boy. He’s in the hospital with a life threatening illness, thrown into the red band society and causing mischief as their first renegade member.
