TV Casting: SUPERGIRL, SECTOR 13, Shailene Woodley in BIG LITTLE LIES

Supergirl, Sector 13, Big Little Lies, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on CBS and HBO.

Supergirl (CBS)

Italia Ricci…will play the part of Siobhan Smythe, known to DC comic book readers as the supervillain Silver Banshee. She will make her debut in episode 114.

On the show, Siobhan will be introduced as Cat Grant’s (Calista Flockart) latest hire who at first becomes a work nemesis for Kara (Melissa Benoist). But she later proves a more deadly foe for Supergirl when she takes on the mantle of her comic book alter-ego.

Nicki Minaj comedy (ABC Family)

Tim Story is finalizing a deal to direct ABC Family’s Nicki Minaj comedy.

Minaj will executive produce and will appear in the half-hour comedy based on her family’s immigration to the U.S. from Trinidad in the early 1990s. Written by Kate Angelo, the show focuses on Minaj’s childhood in Queens with her animated clan and the personal and musical evolution that led to her eventual rise to stardom.

Section 13 (CBS)

Tom Welling is plotting a return to television with a starring role in Section 13, a drama series project at CBS.

Written by Bones alumna Carla Kettner, Section 13 centers on a CIA black ops officer-turned-private contractor (Welling) who, after a personal tragedy, joins a covert organization devoted to carrying out the most difficult and dangerous high-stakes assignments.

The Walking Dead (AMC)

Steven Ogg has been cast in the series in an unspecified role.

Big Little Lies (HBO)

Shailene Woodley is in advance talks to return to the small screen in HBO limited series “Big Little Lies” opposite Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman
