The Flash, Doctor Who, Fargo, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on The CW, BBC, and FX.

Jekyll & Hyde (ITV)

Tom Bateman…[will] play Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original doctor with the dual personality. Richard E Grant and Natalie Gumede (Coronation Street) are also starring. Grant plays Sir Roger Bulstrode, who heads the secret government department M10, which is known as ‘The Invisible Men.’ Gumede is Bella who forms part of a love triangle with Robert.

Set in 1930s London at a time of Hollywood glamour, aerodynamic cars and monster movies, the drama will focus on the young, attractive, and troubled Jekyll as he seeks to discover his real identity. This Jekyll is a young, sensitive and naïve man of intellect and morality, well-meaning and somewhat repressed. He transforms into Hyde in moments of extreme anger, stress and when his or the lives of others are threatened. And Hyde is a totally different person: a superhero with super powers, great strength, speed and invulnerability. He is confident, risk-taking and lives life on the edge.

Charlie Higson…[will] write…Colin Teague (Being Human) is directing.

Further cast includes Stephanie Hyam (Murdered By My Boyfriend), Donald Sumpter (Game Of Thrones), Amit Shah (The Smoke), Phil McKee (Ripper Street), Christian McKay (The Theory Of Everything), Ruby Bentall (Lark Rise To Candleford), Enzo Cilenti (Game Of Thrones), Lolita Chakrabarti (The Smoke), Michael Karim (Inspector Lewis) and Ace Bhatti (Eastenders).

Murder In The First (TNT)

Emmanuelle Chriqui has joined the cast of TNT’s crime drama series Murder In The First as a regular for the upcoming second season opposite Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson.

Chriqui will play the brash, daring and a total bad-ass Lara Cruz who doesn’t just take to the job as a member of the SFPD Gang Task Force, she is the job.

Fargo (FX)

Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson and Jean Smart are set to star opposite Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons in the second installment of Fargo…Nick Offerman, Brad Garrett, Kieran Culkin, Bokeem Woodbine, Jeffrey Donovan and Angus Sampson round out the recurring cast of Fargo’s 10-episode new chapter, set in 1979 in Sioux Falls, SD and Luverne, MN, where a young State Police Officer Lou Solverson (Wilson), recently back from Vietnam, will tackle an all new “true crime” case.

Wilson’s Solverson is a clean-cut Minnesota State Patrolman, four years back from Vietnam, where he served in the Navy. A humble and competent man, Lou is a devoted husband and father. Danson will play Hank Larsson, the Sheriff of Rock County, Minnesota. An unflappable WWII vet who embodies a certain cowboy poetry, Hank is Lou’s father-in-law. Smart will play Floyd Gerhardt, the matriarch of the Gerhardt crime family. She’s stood by her husband’s side for 40 years, but now that he’s out of the picture she thinks it’s her turn to run things.

Billions (Showtime)

Condola Rashad has been cast opposite Paul Giamatti in the Showtime drama pilot Billions. Written and executive produced by Brian Koppelman and David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin…Rashad…will play Kate, a smart, ambitious young professional who is working at the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The Flash (The CW)

Britne Oldford…has been cast as Lashawn Baez on The CW’s Flash. Lashawn Baez is apparently based on the DC Comics character named Shawna Baez, better known as the reluctant villain, Peek-A-Boo; a Flash Rogue with the power of teleportation.

Oldford will reportedly play the girlfriend to Micah Parker’s character, an Iron Heights inmate who convinces his significant other to break him out of prison and use her metahuman powers to pull off one last heist before leaving Central City for good.

Doctor Who (BBC)

Paul Kaye…will be joining Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord and Jenna Coleman’s companion Clara in Doctor Who as a character named Prentis. He’s expected to appear at the start of series nine in first episode “The Magician’s Apprentice”.
