Tom Bateman…[will] play Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original doctor with the dual personality. Richard E Grant and Natalie Gumede (Coronation Street) are also starring. Grant plays Sir Roger Bulstrode, who heads the secret government department M10, which is known as ‘The Invisible Men.’ Gumede is Bella who forms part of a love triangle with Robert.

Set in 1930s London at a time of Hollywood glamour, aerodynamic cars and monster movies, the drama will focus on the young, attractive, and troubled Jekyll as he seeks to discover his real identity. This Jekyll is a young, sensitive and naïve man of intellect and morality, well-meaning and somewhat repressed. He transforms into Hyde in moments of extreme anger, stress and when his or the lives of others are threatened. And Hyde is a totally different person: a superhero with super powers, great strength, speed and invulnerability. He is confident, risk-taking and lives life on the edge.

Charlie Higson…[will] write…Colin Teague (Being Human) is directing.

Further cast includes Stephanie Hyam (Murdered By My Boyfriend), Donald Sumpter (Game Of Thrones), Amit Shah (The Smoke), Phil McKee (Ripper Street), Christian McKay (The Theory Of Everything), Ruby Bentall (Lark Rise To Candleford), Enzo Cilenti (Game Of Thrones), Lolita Chakrabarti (The Smoke), Michael Karim (Inspector Lewis) and Ace Bhatti (Eastenders).

Wilson’s Solverson is a clean-cut Minnesota State Patrolman, four years back from Vietnam, where he served in the Navy. A humble and competent man, Lou is a devoted husband and father. Danson will play Hank Larsson, the Sheriff of Rock County, Minnesota. An unflappable WWII vet who embodies a certain cowboy poetry, Hank is Lou’s father-in-law. Smart will play Floyd Gerhardt, the matriarch of the Gerhardt crime family. She’s stood by her husband’s side for 40 years, but now that he’s out of the picture she thinks it’s her turn to run things.
