TV Casting: TRUE BLOOD, HIEROGLYPH, THE ODD COUPLE, LEGENDS

True Blood

True Blood, Hieroglyph, The Odd Couple, Legends, and other TV shows have all made recent TV show casting news. These shows air on CBS, ABC, NBC, The CW, TNT, TV Land, HBO, and Fox respectively.

True Blood (HBO)

Riley Smith…is set for a major recurring role. He will play Keith, a sexy, rock ‘n’ roll vampire with a romantic side. A drummer in James’ (Nathan Parson) band, he becomes smitten with Arlene (Carrie Preston) on first sight.

Hieroglyph (Fox)

Max Brown has been cast as the lead in Fox‘s 13-episode action-adventure drama series Hieroglyph…Set in ancient Egypt, where fantasy and reality intertwined, it follows Ambrose (Brown), a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah (Reece Ritchie), navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers.

The Odd Couple (CBS)

Sarah Baker is joining her NBC co-star Matthew Perry in his new pilot, the multi-camera CBS comedy The Odd Couple, a take on the Neil Simon’s classic…Baker will play Oscar’s assistant Sam, who spends most of her work day on the phone apologizing to assorted high-and-mighty people who have been offended by Oscar’s latest rant.

Kevin Williamson Pilot

the untitled project is described as a psychological thriller revolving around two detectives, Beth and Jack (McDermott), who handle stalking incidents for the Threat Assessment Unit of the LAPD. McDermott’s Jack Larsen is a recent transfer from the Threat Assessment Unit from New York. His healthy confidence and quick thinking has gotten him into trouble in the past — a past he hopes to leave behind.

Exposed (ABC)

Brian F. O’Byrne (Prime Suspect, FlashForward) has nabbed a lead role in ABC’s drama pilot Exposed…O’Byrne…will play Quigg, a very powerful, mysterious man who works for the Pentagon.

Irreversible (ABC)

Jessica Knappett…and Iris Bahr…are set as female leads opposite David Schwimmer in ABC comedy pilot Irreversible…Knappett…will play Andy’s other half Sarah, a neurotic and feisty morning show host on a second-rate channel who dreams of becoming an important newswoman someday…Bahr will play Stacey, Sarah’s older, yet less mature sister.

Saint Francis (ABC)

Henry Simmons (NYPD Blue) has been cast in Saint Francis…The project…centers on Francis Quinlan (Michael Imperioli), a blue-collar, no-nonsense Long Island cop and family man who butts heads with the modern, liberal world when his 29-year-old sister gets pregnant out of wedlock. Simmons will play Francis’ (Imperioli) business partner at the bar they own.

Messengers (The CW)

Jon Fletcher…is set to co-star in CW drama pilot The Messengers…Fletcher…will play Joshua, a charismatic and compelling pastor at a Texas mega-church.

Coercion (NBC)

Alexandra Peters (Sage Paints The Sky) is set as a series regular in the NBC drama pilot Coercion…Based on the Israeli format The Gordin Cell, the high-octane thriller revolves around the O’Connor family and their son, Alex, a decorated American war hero and CIA analyst. Unbeknownst to him, both of his parents and his sister are part of a dormant Russian sleeper cell that has just been reactivated. Peters will play Sarah, Alex’s younger teenage sister who idolizes her older brother.

Legends (TNT)

Mason Cook (The Lone Ranger) has signed on as a series regular to TNT’s drama Legends…Cook, repped by Coast to Coast, Evolution, and attorney Howard Fishman, will play Aiden Odum, Martin (Sean Bean)’s son.

Battle Creek (CBS)

Dean Winters is set as one of the two leads cast in Battle Creek…Also cast in the project…are Aubrey Dollar and Edward Fordham Jr…It centers on Detective Russ Agnew (Winters) and FBI agent Milton Bradley, who have very different worldviews but are teamed up to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, MI. Agnew is a smart, tough, impatient, and pragmatic guy who gets results but whom no one wants to partner with because he prefers to cut through any nonsense, and this has earned him a reputation for being mean and gruff…Dollar plays Holly, the office manager who shares mutual attraction with Russ. Fordham plays chubby detective Aaron Funkhauser.

More Time With Family (CBS)

Joe Pantoliano has joined the multi-camera project, toplined by Tom Papa and Alyson Hannigan…Based on the stand-up of Papa and the experiences of Damon, the 20th TV-produced project centers on Tom (Papa), a husband and father making a career change to spend more time with his family…Pantoliano plays Stan Rizzo, Tom’s brash, opinionated, old-school father.

Jennifer Falls (TV Land)

Ethan Suplee has been tapped as a regular on comedy series toplined by his former Earl co-star Jaime Pressly. He will play Jennifer Doyle’s (Pressly) brother, Wayne.
