TV Casting: VIKINGS, Z NATION, SENSE8, Rosario Dawson in DAREDEVIL

Vikings, Z Nation, Sense8, Daredevil, and other television productions have all made recent TV show and TV movie casting news. These shows and movies air on TNT, AMC, MTV, Amazon, SyFy, Netflix, NBC, Lifetime, and A&E.

Lothaire Bluteau (The Tudors), Kevin Durand (The Strain) and Morgane Polanski (The Ghost) have joined the cast of History’s original scripted series Vikings for Season 3. They join previously announced Ben Robson (Dracula: The Dark Prince) who will play Kalf, Lagertha’s trusted second in command… Bluteau will play Emperor Charles of France, a powerful man who views the Vikings as spiritual and earthly; Durand will play The Wanderer, a mysterious man who is not what he seems; and Polanski will play Princess Gisla, the elegant, self-possessed daughter of Emperor Charles and his most trusted advisor.

Jennie Jacques has booked a series regular role in History’s scripted drama Vikings…Jacques will play Judith, the daughter of Saxon King Aelle and bride to Aethelwulf, son of Saxon King Ecbert. She becomes the mother of notable historical figure Alfred the Great.

Narcos (Netflix)

Manolo Cardona has joined the cast of Netflix’s drama series Narcos as a series regular…Manolo…will play Eduardo Mendoza, the baby-faced chief of the National Prison System, an inexperienced, kind, idealistic man-child with a can-do attitude who was wrongly blamed for Escobar’s escape from La Catedral.

Major Crimes (TNT)

Hampton Fluker is set as to guest star in Episode 307 of TNT‘s drama series Major Crimes…Fluker…will play alpha male Jamey Perez, an intelligent, determined and ambitious third-generation LAPD officer who wants to spend his time in SWAT for the best purposes possible.

Galyntine (AMC)

Charlotte D’Ambroise has joined AMC drama pilot Galyntine. Written by Jason Cahill and directed/exec produced by Greg Nicotero, the fantasy-action adventure with hints of sci-fi is set in a postapocalyptic future without technology where a band of survivors is forced to adapt to isolation and the challenges of their new world. D’Amboise…will play Micah, a former healer and now the colony’s unofficial historian.

Awkward (MTV)

Niko Pepaj has joined MTV’s Awkward as a recurring guest star….he will play Sergio, a confident and unflappable young man who works with Sadie (Molly Tarlov) on the food truck.

I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story (Lifetime)

Arlen Escarpeta (Final Destinaton 5, We Are Marshall) and Yolanda Ross (Go For Sisters) have been cast opposite Yaya DaCosta in Lifetime’s I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story. Helmed by Angela Bassett in her directorial debut, the biopic chronicles the tumultuous relationship between Houston (DaCosta) and singer-songwriter Bobby Brown — from the time they first met at the very height of their celebrity through their courtship and rocky marriage, all during Whitney’s meteoric rise as a singer, actress and model…Escarpeta…will play Brown. Ross…will play Robyn, Whitney’s lifelong friend and confidant.

Harold Perrineau (Oz, Lost), Tom Everett Scott (Southland, Beauty And The Beast), DJ Qualls (Supernatural), Michael Welch (Twilight trilogy) and Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show) have joined the ensemble drama…Perrineau will play Hammond, the leader of the group headed west; Scott plays Garnett, Hammond’s second-in-command; and Qualls plays the role of Citizen Z, a computer hacker who joins the team and helps them navigate the zombie-infested terrain. Welch and Smith are Mack and Addy, respectively, two disparate wanderers drawn to the team – and to each other – by a shared goal: survival. Rounding out the ensemble are Anastasia Baranova (The Darkness II) as Addy, Russell Hodgkinson (Big Fish) as Doc and Keith Allan (Rise Of The Zombies) as Murphy.

Daredevil (Netflix)

Rosario Dawson has joined “Marvel’s Daredevil,”…Rosario Dawson will play a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city.

 Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock’s journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil.”

Sense8 (Netflix)

Naveen Andrews, Daryl Hannah and Stargate Universe‘s Brian J. Smith are among the 14-member international cast of Sense8, Netflix‘s 10-episode sci-fi drama series from the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski. Also cast in the show…Tuppence Middleton, who appears in Wachowskis’ upcoming film Jupiter Ascending;…Aml Ameen (The Maze Runner, Lee Daniels’ The Butler) and Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who, Torchwood),…Tena Desae,… Doona Bae,…Max Riemelt,…Alfonso Herrera and Erendira Ibarra as well as Jamie Clayton, Miguel Silvestre and Terrence Mann.

Aquarius (NBC)

Grey Damon is returning to NBC to co-star opposite David Duchovny in drama series Aquarius, and Emma Dumont (Salvation, Bunheads) has joined the cast as a series regular…the gritty 1960s cop drama focuses on a cop (Duchovny) who goes undercover to track Charles Manson and the Manson Family before their infamous murder spree…Damon…will play Duchovny’s partner. Dumont…will play Emma Karn, the daughter of Grace Karn and her influential husband Ken.

Really (Amazon)

Sarah Chalke, Selma Blair, Luka Jones, Travis Schuldt, Lindsay Sloane, Hayes Macarthur, Collette Wolfe and and Rob Delaney co-star in the pilot, about four hard-charging suburban Chicago couples trying to grasp on to their dwindling youth. It centers on the happily but messily married couple Jed (Chandrasekhar), and Lori (Chalke). When Jed is faced with the choice of keeping his pal’s secret or destroying his friend group, he winds up digging himself into a very deep hole.
