A&E NETWORK GRILLS UP SOME DRAMA THIS MEMORIAL DAY WITH TWO HUGE SEASON PREMIERES

SEASON TWO OF THE NETWORK’S HIT SCRIPTED SERIES “LONGMIRE,” FROM WARNER HORIZON TELEVISION, PREMIERES MONDAY, MAY 27 AT 10 ET/PT FOLLOWING THE SEASON FOUR PREMIERE OF “THE GLADES,” FROM FOX TELEVISION STUDIOS, AT 9 PM ET/PT

New York, NY – April 10, 2013 – A&E Network is scheduling in some summer drama this Memorial Day, premiering back-to-back new seasons of its popular scripted series “Longmire,” from Warner Horizon Television, and “The Glades,” from Fox Television Studios. Season Two of the contemporary crime thriller “Longmire” premieres Monday, May 27th at 10 PM ET/PT immediately following the fourth season premiere of the hit drama “The Glades” at 9 PM ET/PT. This year, crime doesn’t get a holiday.

Last season, the duo of “The Glades” and “Longmire” propelled A&E to become the #1 cable network in Total Viewers on Sunday nights from 9-11 PM. “Longmire” became A&E’s #1 original drama of all time in Total Viewers. In its first season, the series averaged 4.0 million total viewers, making it the best freshman season in Total Viewers for any A&E series, scripted or non-fiction, in the network’s history. Additionally, the most recent season of “The Glades” was the series’ strongest ever, averaging 4.1 million total viewers.

“Longmire,” based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson, returns for its second season with more murder, secrets and betrayals from Absaroka County, Wyoming. The new season finds reluctant hero Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) back in the saddle after coming to terms with the devastating loss of his wife and dedicated to serving his community. But storm clouds are brewing… Walt’s reign as Sheriff hangs in the balance as he fights for re-election against rival, and his own deputy, Branch Connally (Bailey Chase). Walt’s right hand deputy, Vic Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is visited by the ghost of a past she’d rather forget. Walt’s daughter Cady (Cassidy Freeman) searches for answers about her mother’s murder, while Walt’s possible connection to the death of his wife’s killer threatens to sweep his loyal friend Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) into the mix. As the open skies darken and the winds kick up, Walt and his deputies plunge head first into the storm… confronting the question: how will each react when it hits?

In the season premiere episode of “Longmire,” a prison transfer goes awry and Walt urgently pursues a serial killer and his fellow escapees, who have taken hostages, up a mountain. Facing an impending storm with very limited resources, Walt’s mettle is put to the test and hypothermic hallucinations force him to face his past.

Season Four of “The Glades” is packed with even more mystery, intrigue and fun from Florida’s favorite homicide investigator – the disarmingly charming Detective Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore). From haunted plantations to rum-soaked shot girls and even a zombie apocalypse, Longworth is once again solving murders that can only happen in the Sunshine State. This season also promises more drama on the personal front for Longworth, Carlos (Carlos Gomez), Manus (Michelle Hurd) and Daniel (Jordan Wall) as friends and relatives from near and far arrive on the scene. But the big question remains to be answered as Longworth waits for Callie (Kiele Sanchez) to accept his marriage proposal, or not.

In the season four premiere episode of “The Glades,” Longworth must delve into a 150-year-old ghost story to solve a murder when the dead body of an heiress is found in a haunted plantation house.

“Longmire” is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Horizon Television. Greer Shephard (“The Closer,” “Nip/Tuck”), Michael M. Robin (“The Closer,” “Nip/Tuck”), Hunt Baldwin (“The Closer,” “Trust Me”) and John Coveny (“The Closer,” “Trust Me”) serve as executive producers.

“The Glades” is produced by Fox Television Studios for A&E Network. The series executive producers are Clifton Campbell (“White Collar,” “Profiler,” “21 Jump Street”) for Innuendo Productions, Inc. and Gary Randall (“Saving Grace”) for Grand Productions, Inc. The series is created by Clifton Campbell.

Greg Bryk (A History Of Violence), Greyston Holt (ALCATRAZ), and Paul Greene (THE CLIENT LIST) join previously announced lead Laura Vandervoort (SMALLVILLE) in principal cast. From No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment, and Entertainment One, BITTEN is set to premiere in early 2014 on Space.

Space announced today that production has begun on its buzzed-about new Original Drama series BITTEN. Featuring three new male leads, the Canadian scripted series will shoot in studio and on location in Toronto, Hamilton, and in the Hespeler area in Cambridge, ON until late summer. Based on the critically acclaimed Women of the Otherworld novels by Canadian author Kelley Armstrong, the emotionally charged thriller stars previously announced Laura Vandervoort (SMALLVILLE, Ted) as Elena Michaels, the world’s only female werewolf. Additional principal casting for the series announced today includes Winnipeg’s Greg Bryk (A History Of Violence, ROOKIE BLUE) as Pack Alpha Jeremy Danvers, and Alberta natives Greyston Holt (ALCATRAZ, Durham County) as Clayton Danvers and Paul Greene (THE CLIENT LIST, WICKED WICKED GAMES) as Philip McAdams. The 13-episode, one-hour series is set to premiere in early 2014 on Space, and is produced by No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment, and Entertainment One (eOne) in association with Bell Media.

A foster child, Elena (Vandervoort) had always craved a “normal” life and thought she finally found it with her boyfriend Clayton Danvers (Holt). But the secret life he kept from her ended up changing her forever. With one small bite, Elena was forced to survive life with the Pack as a werewolf. Still craving the normal life she lost, Elena finds refuge in Toronto working as a photographer and dating a new man. Hiding her werewolf existence from her ad-exec boyfriend Phillip McAdams (Greene), Elena is pulled back into her former life when bodies turn up in the backwoods of Stonehaven, the rural mansion that has served as a werewolf sanctuary for generations. Caught between two worlds and two loves, Elena returns to Stonehaven out of duty, turning to Clay’s foster-father and leader of the Pack Jeremy Danvers (Bryk) for support. But once back in the fold, Elena realizes that when push comes to shove, like any true alpha female, she’ll stop at nothing to defend her family.

Also joining the BITTEN cast are Paulino Nunes (THE FIRM, CRA$H & BURN) and Steve Lund (HAVEN, ALPHAS) as werewolf father and son Antonio and Nick Sorrentino; Natalie Brown (BEING HUMAN, HAPPY TOWN) as Diane, Philip’s sister and Elena’s best friend in Toronto; Michael Xavier (THE BEST YEARS, NIKITA) as werewolf Logan; Genelle Williams (WAREHOUSE 13, THE LISTENER) as Logan’s girlfriend Rachel; and Joel Keller (MEN WITH BROOMS, DURHAM COUNTY) as werewolf Peter.

“We’re so excited to see the rich world that Kelley Armstrong has created in her novels begin to take shape and come to life as we start production on this new series with an amazing cast,” said Corrie Coe, Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media. “With Greyston and Paul joining Laura, the love triangle at the heart of the series is complete, and Greg is the perfect Pack leader.”

“After months of searching in Toronto, Vancouver, and Los Angeles, we couldn’t be more excited about casting Greyston Holt to play Clayton, Paul Greene in the role of Philip, and Greg Bryk as Pack Alpha, Jeremy Danvers,” said J.B. Sugar, Executive Producer, No Equal Entertainment. “We are truly excited to begin production and I can’t think of a more appealing and talented ensemble cast of actors to populate the world of our show.”

BITTEN is based on the critically-acclaimed series of novels by Kelley Armstrong, and is executive produced by J.B. Sugar (THE COLLECTOR, JPOD) for No Equal Entertainment, John Barbisan and Patrick Banister (WHISTLER) for Hoodwink Entertainment, and John Morayniss and Margaret O’Brien for eOne. Daegan Fryklind and Grant Rosenberg (LOST GIRL) are Executive Producers and Co-Showrunners.

Magic City

The network today announced the second season will bow Friday, June 14 at 9 PM, a week after the season finale of another Starz original series, Da Vinci’s Demons.

Buckwild

After careful consideration, MTV will not be moving forward with season two of “BUCKWILD” in West Virginia. We love the cast and the show and this was not an easy decision, but given Shain’s tragic passing and essential presence on the show, we felt it was not appropriate to continue without him. Instead, we are working on a meaningful way to pay tribute to his memory on our air and privately.

On Sunday, we will be running a special “BUCKWILD: WV to the NYC,” which was shot before production had begun on season two. With the support of his parents, Dale and Loretta Gandee, we will run the tribute following a day of programming dedicated to Shain in which we will air the entire first season of “BUCKWILD”.

“Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time for our family. We have truly felt all the love and know that Shain is resting peacefully. Shain was an incredible, outgoing, and positive person who was loved by whoever he met. We are honored that we were able to let the world see what a wonderful son we had. He was the best son anyone could ask for. As we look to honor him in our lives every day moving forward, we are happy to share some of his last moments doing what he loved best: having fun and making people laugh,” said Loretta Gandee.
