Red Band Society, Below Deck, and other TV shows have all made recent TV show news by being renewed for an additional season, cancelled, or had  additional episode orders.  These shows air on Fox and Bravo.

Z-Nation (Syfy)

Syfy announced it has picked up the zombie drama for a second season for debut in 2015. The series’ freshman 13-episode run kicked off on September 12 with 1.6 million viewers, making it the most watched show on cable in its 10 PM slot and the second best among the key demo.

Jane The Virgin (The CW)

[Jane The Virgin has been renewed.] Jane The Virgin is holding ground on Monday, helping the night to post big year-to-year gains. Jane held very well in its second airing last night, currently running a tenth ahead of last Monday’s premiere.

The Bridge (FX)

The series didn’t improve in the ratings or critical reception [in season 2], leading to today’s cancellation.

The series got off to a strong start on July 10, 2013, debuting to 3.04 million viewers in Live+Same Day, a number that jumped up in Live+3 to 4.64 million viewers to become the network’s biggest launch ever. But by the end of Season 1, the show had lost half of its audience, with the first season finale drawing 1.5 million in L+SD.

Faking It (MTV)

Four episodes into Faking It‘s 10-episode second season, MTV has ordered 10 more episodes of the scripted comedy series, bringing its second season to 20 episodes. Faking it opened its second season with 1.043 million viewers, down slightly from the series premiere of 1.165 million in Live+same day.

Below Deck (Bravo)

A day after Below Deck‘s Season 2 finale broke a series season ratings record, Bravo has re-upped the yachting yarn for a third go-round…It earned the highest-rated episode of the season among all key demos, with 1.4M total viewers and 710,000 P18-49, according to Nielsen.

Red Band Society (Fox)

Fox is keeping its freshman drama Red Band Society in contention for a back episodic order with a pickup of four additional scripts. The hospital drama launched to solid reviews but has been soft in the ratings. Still, a couple of weeks in, its numbers stabilized, and last Wednesday the series (1.0 among adults 18-49 in Live+SD) actually logged a one-tenth week-to-week uptick. Additionally, the drama starring Octavia Spencer has been a major DVR gainer, getting 70-80% ratings increases in Live+7.
