TV Renewals: LAW & ORDER: SVU, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, SALEM, DEMONS

Law & Order: SVU, Orange is the New Black, Salem, Da Vinci’s Demons Renewed. NBC‘s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has been renewed for a sixteenth season, Amazon‘s Orange is the New Black has been renewed for a third season, WGN America‘s Salem has been renewed for season 2, Starz‘s Da Vinci’s Demons, HBO‘s The Comeback has been renewed for season 2, and Hallmark Channel‘s When Calls The Heart has been renewed for a second season.

Seven episodes into Da Vinci’s Demons‘ 10-episode second season run, Starz has renewed the historical fantasy series created by David S. Goyer for a third season…Production of the 10-episode Season 3, from Adjacent Pictures, is expected to begin in Wales later this spring for a 2015 premiere on Starz.

Salem (WGN America)

WGN America‘s first original scripted drama has been picked up for a second season three episodes into its freshman run. The 13-episode second season of Salem, from creators Brannon Braga and Adam Simon and Fox 21, will begin production later this year for a 2015 debut.

The Comeback (HBO)

HBO has completed deals for a second installment of the cult 2005 comedy starring Lisa Kudrow, which will run as a six-episode limited series this fall. Production is set to begin in LA this month.

Orange Is The New Black (Amazon)

Orange Is The New Black will return for a third season, its writers said via Twitter today. The show’s co-star Laura Prepon also confirmed the news via her Instagram feed

When Calls The Heart & Cedar Cove (Hallmark Channel)

Hallmark Channel has given a second season pickup to When Calls The Heart, its second original scripted series which stars Lori Loughlin, Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing. It follows the renewal for a second season of Hallmark’s first original scripted series, Cedar Cove.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC)

NBC has closed a deal with producer Dick Wolf for a 16th season of veteran crime drama Law & Order: SVU. Star Mariska Hargitay is expected to return.
