TV Review: DEXTER: Season 5, Ep. 3: Practically Perfect

Dexter season 5, episode 3 – entitled Practically Perfect – is probably the best episode of the season so far. The unexpected happens multiple times during the episode. Four major events happen during this episode. The decapitators know the police are on to them and take action to curtail their investigation with more decapitation. Two killers engage in a short game of cat and mouse (one of the highlights of the episode) and someone sees Dexter  (Michael C. Hall) kill, someone innocent so he can’t kill them. What the hell is Dexter going to do with this person? What can he do? Quinn (Desmond Harrington) continues his investigation and Dexter’s children leave with their grandparents. The most interesting part of the last event is that Dexter admits to Aster (Christina Robinson) and himself how much he cares for and loves her and her brother. His father was right about Dexter’s family being his salvation, him needing them. They help connect him with what he has lost and the last shreds of humanity he has left within him.
