UNCHARTED: Tom Holland Cast As Nathan Drake

Uncharted Video Game

Tom Holland Set To Play Nathan Drake In Uncharted

Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland has been cast in a lead role in the planned adaptation of Sony Interactive’s video game Uncharted.

Making his film debut in 2012’s The Impossible, Holland has rapidly risen to stardom within the five years he has been active as an actor. He has played roles in In the Heart of the Sea, Edge of Winter, and The Lost City of Z and lent his voice to Arriety and Locke. More recently, he has wrapped up filming on Spider-Man and Pilgrimage and is set to appear in The Current War as well as Avengers: Infinity War.

Envisioned as a prequel to the video game series, the planned film extrapolates from a short scene in the third game and will tell how Drake got his start as a thief.

Superherohype, the source of this story, shares the following information about the original game:

Based on the action-adventure video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune from Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive, the story follows a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray, then is escalated when creatures — actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis — begin attacking those hoping to learn the treasure’s true secrets.
