Netflix To Release Second Season of Voltron: Legendary Defender in Late 2016. After a critically acclaimed first season of Voltron: Legendary Defender, Netflix and Dreamworks gave fans some exciting news that the animated series will have a second season to air later this year.

During a panel on Thursday for the series at San Diego Comic Con, EPs Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, and writer Tim Hedrick surprised fans that a second season has been confirmed to air late this year. Joining them in the celebration was Steven Yeun, who does the voice of Keith the pilot of the red lion. The panel shared some behind-the-scenes into the making of the first season and their favorite scenes along with a sneak peak into what’s in store for season two. After that huge cliffhanger, viewers will follow Team Voltron right where they left off where they end up getting lost in space after Haggar breaks open a wormhole.
