Voltron Cast

Official Trailer for Voltron: Legendary Defender Gets Released. Netflix and Dreamworks Animation has unveiled the official trailer for their animated series Voltron: Legendary Defender. The trailer gives some background into the reboot for a new audience.

Voltron: Legendary Defender serves as a reimagining of the 80s animated series with some classic animation mixed in with some CGI. Executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos gave a rundown of the series and what makes it great for old and new fans. Here’s what he said:

As children of the 80’s who grew up with Voltron what was there not to love? You had 5 awesome lions, piloted by 5 awesome heroes who combined to form a giant, sword wielding Titan! It unapologetically married Sci-fi and Fantasy in one incredibly over the top, bombastic package. Fans of the new series [Voltron: Legendary Defender] can look for us to keep all those elements but also expect a much more fleshed out universe with a rich backstory and characters who will evolve over the course of the series.

The series will follow a group of teens who find some robot lions of extraterrestrial origins and uses them to combine to form the ultimate protector of the galaxy known as Voltron. The voice case includes Steven Yeun, Jeremy Shada, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Josh Keaton, Tyler Labine, Kimberly Brooks, Rhys Darby, Neil Kaplan, and Cree Summer.

Check out the trailer and the final poster for the series and let us know what you think. Are you all excited for Voltron?
