The Walking Dead Renewed for 8th Season

The Walking Dead has been officially renewed for an eighth season ahead of its seventh season premiere. Season 8 of The Walking Dead will premiere in the fall of 2017. The announcement was made during The Walking Dead: The Journey So Far. The Walking Dead: The Journey So Far was a two-hour retrospective on all the seasons that proceeded Season 7. The retrospective aired last night. AMC president Charlie Collier made the announcement during the presentation, emulating the voice of Negan.

Eeny, meeny, miny, more. What a joy to partner with Robert Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple and some of the hardest-working people in television to bring The Walking Dead to the fans. And, most important, thanks to those fans for breathing life into this remarkable series right along with us.

Season 8 of The Walking Dead will be sixteen episodes long. The first episode of the Season 8 will be the series one hundredth episode. With the one hundredth episode, the series will be able to be syndicated on other networks.

The Walking Dead: Season 7 stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Alanna Masterson, Austin Amelio, Christine Evangelista, Austin Nichols, Katelyn Nacon, Tom Payne, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Xander Berkeley, Steven Yeun, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Lennie James, Melissa McBride, Corey Hawkins, Seth Gilliam, Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Lauren Cohan.
