THE WALKING DEAD: Episode 502: Strangers: Trailer, Clips, & 501 BTS [AMC]

The Walking Dead 502 Strangers

AMC’s The Walking Dead Strangers TV show trailer & clips, No Sanctuary extras. If you are a fan of The Walking Dead, then you don’t need me to tell you that some fairly epic television happened, for the fifth season premiere of the series. You also shouldn’t be surprised that the premiere drew record ratings numbers. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d say ‘No Sanctuary’ earned itself some extra BTS footage, as part of its victory lap; specifically, expanding on the two highlight moments of the episode: the butcher’s trough, and the breakout.

The one question likely to be asked, coming off of such a start, is how the show intends to support & maintain the momentum of that launching. One way, of course, was the premiere episode stinger, revealing the return of Morgan Jones (Lennie James), the character that has had the largest impact, for the least amount of screen time, on both the series and fans, alike.

For season five’s follow up episode, however, another source character will be introduced. Father Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam) makes his series debut, harboring a secret that will have certain consequences for the group. This may not be as entirely ominous as a recent history of downturns might suggest; but then, one key to the success of the series has been major divergences from the source material. Father Gabriel’s role can play to source fan expectations, or amount to something entirely different.

The trailer, for ‘Strangers,’ sets up Father Gabriel’s appearance, and teases his secret; while the accompanying clips turn a tender moment, from the ‘No Sanctuary’ come down, into a lead in to Father Gabriel’s harrowing introduction to the group.

‘Strangers’ also features Andrew Lincoln, Emily Kinney, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Michael Cudlitz, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Sonequa Martin-Green, Lauren Cohan, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt, Chad L. Coleman, and Alanna Masterson. ‘Strangers’ airs Sunday, Oct. 19, at 9 p.m. EST, on AMC.
