THE WALKING DEAD: First Look at Khary Payton as King Ezekiel [AMC]
First Image of Khary Payton as King Ezekiel on The Walking Dead. Shown during the Comic-Con trailer, the AMC monster hit The Walking Dead revealed the appearance of King Ezekiel, and now they have unveiled an official image of Khary Payton playing the famous character.
Word first got out when rumors surfaced that King Ezekiel would be appearing in the seventh season of The Walking Dead, but it wasn’t until San Diego Comic Con when it was confirmed that he is part of the season in the new trailer. EW released a first look at Khary Payton as the character, but the biggest surprise was when his pet tiger Shiva made his appearance. It was revealed that the tiger would be portrayed on the show with animatronics and some CGI. In an interview with the magazine, Khary spoke about playing the character and what it was like working with special effects to bring the animal to life:
It’s just another beautiful way that I get to use my imagination. As far as I’m concerned, Shiva’s as real as the people standing next to me — as Morgan or Carol or any of the other people who move among the Kingdom itself. So I really don’t think of it as CG or mechanic. All I know is that she’s real to me. I’ve done a lot of video games where there’s literally nothing standing in front of me. I’ve done, you know, a lot of voiceovers where there’s literally nothing standing in front of me, I’ve got to make it all up, so this is just another situation where my imagination gets to be used in another context, so no matter how good they bring it to life, it’s already alive in my head.
So check out the image of King Ezekiel and let us know what you think.
