Robert Kirkman Confirms The Walking Dead TV Series Ending Will Be Different From The Comics

While there are no plans in ending AMC’s zombie hit The Walking Dead anytime soon, creator Robert Kirkman does confirm that he has two different endings in mind for both the TV series and the comics. So it seems like the comics may end up continuing even after the TV series ends…

With The Walking Dead about to air it’s seventh season, everyone is looking forward to the show every year. Despite not being an end to the series yet, Robert Kirkman has said that if the show does end, it will be different from his long-running comic book series of the same name. “I hope [when] the show ends, the comic keeps going,” Kirkman said during a preview of AMC’s Geeking Out. He also added:

The comic was the comic before the show, so I try to maintain that. I know how I’m going to end The Walking Dead [comic], so I can’t tell anyone, because I don’t want it in the show before I get it in my comic! So if the show were to end at any point and the comic was still going, I would have to sit down with [showrunner] Scott [Gimple] and pretend I had no idea how to end it and work with him and try and come up with a new ending.

Having the story continue onscreen with the source material still being made is something that Game of Thrones knows a thing or two about. If the zombie drama goes in the same path like Game of Thrones, we can expect two different endings in both mediums. What do you guys think?
