AMC‘s The Walking Dead Hunt or be Hunted Trailer. The heroes & heroines of The Walking Dead take one more step towards the dark side, courtesy of some less than hospitable hosts, at the end of a particularly brutal fourth season.
With the season five opener, ‘No Sanctuary,’ the gang seems well on their way to shifting from perpetual defense, to all offense; a change in outlook that will likely affect the conduct of the mission to Washington, DC.
The Walking Dead season five synopsis:
Season Four of The Walking Dead ended with Rick and the group outgunned, outnumbered, and trapped in a train car awaiting a grim fate. Season Five picks up shortly thereafter. What follows is a story that weaves the true motives of the people of Terminus with the hopeful prospect of a cure in Washington, D.C., the fate of the group’s lost comrades, as well as new locales, new conflicts, and new obstacles in keeping the group together and staying alive. Stories will break apart and intersect. The characters will find love and hate. Peace and conflict. Contentment and terror. And, in the quest to find a permanent, safe place to call home, one question will haunt them… After all they’ve seen, all they’ve done, all they’ve sacrificed, lost, and held on to no matter what the cost…Who do they become?
The way I see it, they become some of the very people they have been fighting. The only reason even the most idealistic amongst them would have for maintaining civility, is the hope of civilization’s return/ restoration. The DC mission may provide such hope, but they will still have to survive long enough to see that restoration take root. Moses never was allowed to see the Promised Land. The price for restoring civilization may be no longer being fit to rejoin it.
Likely, a distant concern; but until then, to our darkening heroes, “I say, kill them all.”
The fifth season of The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Emily Kinney, Danai Gurira, and Chad Coleman. The Walking Dead returns to AMC starting October 12th, at 9:00pm, EST.
