The Walking Dead: Season 7 Promoted Actors
Four actors have been promoted to series regulars on AMC‘s The Walking Dead for its seventh season. Those four actors are Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio, and Xander Berkeley. This is a common practice on the zombie horror TV series. Katelyn Nacon, who plays Enid and was introduced in Season 6 of The Walking Dead, was not upped to a series regular.
All four of the actors that were upped to series regulars play major roles in the comic book series on which the TV series is based. Jeffrey Dean portrays Negan, who will be the main villain of Season 7 (and whom was spoken of ad nauseum during Season 6).
Tom Payne plays Jesus, a willy survivor that introduces Rick and the people of Alexandria to the people of the Hilltop Colony.
Austin Amelio plays Dwight, whose face has been scarred by fire, and who harbors animosity toward Daryl (Norman Reedus). Dwight is one of Negan’s primary retainers and a member of the Saviors.
The Walking Dead: Season 7 also stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Andrew Lincoln, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Corey Hawkins, Lennie James, Seth Gilliam, Josh McDermitt, Alanna Masterson, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, and Austin Nichols.
