WAR MACHINE: Netflix Acquires Distribution of Brad Pitt Film

Brad Pitt Fury

Netflix Has Acquired Distribution Rights to Brad Pitt Film War Machine. Brad Pitt, through his production company, Plan B, will be producing and adapting the Michael Hastings book, a satirical and incisive look at America’s behaviour in Afghanistan. Pitt will play a four-star general, likely molded after General Stanley McChrystal.

The film will be inspired by Hastings’ book The Operators: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America’s War In Afghanistan. How direct this ‘inspiration’ will be before it becomes adaptation is yet unclear, but we do know that David Michod is writing and directing – which has turned out terrifically in the past. All in all, this sounds like a great project. I think Brad Pitt makes some very good choices (when he’s not part of a CGI zombie franchise) and feel like this could be a smart, harsh and effective political comedy.

Now if I could only get over the fact that Michael Hastings died a very questionable death and mentioned he was in fatal danger just days before. Oh well.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
