THE WARRIORS: The Russos to Adapt Cult Film into a TV Series [Hulu]

The Russos Developing TV Adaptation of The Warriors. The Russos are taking time out of their busy schedule to help make a TV adaptation of the iconic 1979 flick The Warriors. The directors are teaming with Paramount and Hulu to recreate the film for today’s generation.

With the directors busy with Avengers: Infinity War, Joe and Anthony Russo are fitting in one other project which is an hour-long drama based on The Warriors for Hulu and Paramount. Deadline reported that this new take would honor the original while adding “its own unique brand of grit, pulp, sex and violence.” No director has been announced yet, but Frank Baldwin has already been brought on board as a writer.

Originally a novel by Richard Price, The Warriors was adapted into a film in 1979, which was directed by Walter Hill. The franchise also expanded into comic books from Dynamite and a 2005 video game by Rockstar. Maybe we can expect some cameos from the original cast? What do you guys think?
